Recipe Ingredients
2 1/2 lbs regular grind beef
One (1.5 oz) packet of spice mix
One 8-ounce can tomato sauce
One or more cans of beef broth (as needed)
Recipe Directions
Cook meat in skillet with a small amount of cooking oil. Once browned, drain fat and put meat in chili pot with water to cover meat. Boil meat until it starts to become tender. Add 1/2 can of beef broth and tomato sauce. Bring up to temperature and add one packet of spice mix. Simmer covered for at least 30 minutes. Add additional beef broth as liquid evaporates. Add more beef for a soupier gravy, less broth for a thicker gravy. Basic chili produced by this recipe can be used for taco or burrito filling. The spice mix can be used on grilled hamburgers, potato salad or with sour cream as a dip.
